Hi, I come from Ireland and I have lived in China for fouryears. I majored in Psychology and child development and I wanted to see if Icould use these skills to help teach others learn and grow and I also wanted toexperience living in China,so i decided to do the two of them together and that was the main reason I camehere. It is rich in history and culture and it has been the best years of my life and I hope to have many more years to come.
I am from London Ontario, Canada. I graduated from the University of Windsor Ontario majoring in Communication Studies. I spent over 7 years teaching in South Korea (Mokpo, Gwangju,Busan, Seoul). I taught young children to adults and enjoyedthe experience immensely.
I am excited to explore Gaungzhou and immerse myself in the Chinese culture. In my short time here, I have had great experiences and I am excited to spend more time here. The staff at Huamei have made me feel at home here and I feel lucky to be part of such an amazing team of people.

Kindergarten---Mr. Simon Vakundeni Shikongo
Originally from New Zealand, Simon started his career as an EFL teacher in Budapest in 2008. From that beginning, he has taught in a variety of institutions in Istanbul, Doha and finally Guangzhou. Simon has been in this city since 2014, and joined Huamei in Autumn 2019. He is excited to be part of the Huamei journey for students in the kindergarten, and he hopes to help them be excited about interacting with the world in English.
Simon says of English education: "My time as a teacher has shown me that, no matter what a student's cultural and social-economic backgrounds are, the desire to learn and improve is something that people around the world possess. I feel truly honoured to be able to help students every day in the pursuit of knowledge".
