It’s has been a dark and gray few weeks for the world, but hope is in sight.Thankfully things are getting back to normal slowly but surely. It’s times likethis that pulls us together and makes us even stronger.
I was amazed at how well students, parents and teachers were able to communicateand interact with each other online and via wechat to get through this difficult time for all of us. It just proves that nothing is impossible andnothing can stop us. We have students all over the country and some teachers indifferent counties agreeing on a time to teach, learn and catch up with eachother even though they are sometimes in different time zones. When we have awill, there will always be a way.
This month we used online platforms to send videos / pictures and shared stories toand from students and teachers. Students shared their work on wechat for alltheir fellow students to see and to give encouragement to each and every one ofthem. It was also great to see parent’s getting actively involved and takingpart in the lessons and working together with their children.
We received some excellent pictures and videos back from our students alone with voice recordings. We also hold weekly live video chats with our classes for ourstudents to present toys or stories of their choice and we use this time as away to catch up with each other and just to talk and have a little bit of funwith no rules attached.
It’s a difficult time for us all at the moment and we all wish we were back inschool and getting on with daily life, but this special period is nobody’sfault and we all have to keep working together to get through this time and wewill. This will make us stronger and closer than ever before and remember thereis always a light at the end of the tunnel.
